The Built Through Fire Foundation exists to build strong, disciplined, and resilient young people through wrestling, training, and mentorship. Inside The Forge, kids are challenged, supported, and shaped into leaders, regardless of where they come from or what they’ve been through.
We believe strength is earned, character is built, and no child should be denied the opportunity to grow because of financial barriers.

MEET BRIAN COON
HEAD COACH, LEAD PROGRAM MANAGER
Brian Coon is a father of two and mentor to hundreds of youth. He is a relentless competitor, proven leader, and transformational mentor with over 30 years of wrestling experience. He has dedicated his career to building toughness, discipline, and leadership in young people both on and off the mat.
As the driving force behind the New Bedford Sharks Wrestling Club since 2020, Brian has opened doors for at-risk youth by providing free access to elite training and character development.
Whether on the mat, in the classroom, or in the community, Brian brings unmatched energy, passion, and purpose—developing athletes, elevating female participation in wrestling, shaping leaders, and building futures.
